OVERVIEW
The STEAM Plus program is a Miami Beach Commission approved program that was created as a joint initiative of the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade Public Schools located on Miami Beach and The Bass Museum of Art. The program, fully funded by the City of Miami Beach, brings cultural organizations and/or groups as artists-in-residence to seven Miami Beach public schools - Biscayne Beach Elementary, Fienberg Fisher K-8 Center, Miami Beach Senior High, Nautilus Middle, North Beach Elementary, South Point Elementary and Treasure Island Elementary.
PRIORITIES
The objective of the STEAM Plus program is to integrate high quality visual and performing arts into science and math classes as part of the Miami-Dade school district’s STEAM initiative, which stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math.
ELIGIBILTY
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) public charities, governmental entities serving Miami-Dade County or companies that show a strong track record of providing quality offerings that reflect the program’s purpose.
GRANT SIZE AND DURATION
Grant amounts will vary, depending on proposed activities and the organization’s capacity. All grants will be awarded as one-year grants only. This is a reimbursement grant opportunity, meaning organizations will be reimbursed after the programming has begun, for services and materials as part of the program activities.
